Sweden is a pike fishing paradise year-round, but some periods are more favorable and accessible. In winter, Swedish waters are often frozen over.
It's generally necessary to wait until March to be able to navigate freely. To maximize your chances, it's important to adapt your fishing techniques to the conditions and time of year.
In spring (April-May), pike become very active, moving closer to shallow, warm waters. Look for them in depths between 0.5m and 3m. They lie in wait in weed beds, reedbeds, and other aquatic habitats.
The main technique is lure fishing. Soft lures such as shads, swimbaits, jerkbaits, spinners, and chatterbaits are particularly effective.
